Below is a copy of the document you will be asked to sign if you decide to proceed with lessons after your trial lesson! It outlines studio policies and covers information on billing, payment, and general expectations. As always, feel free to reach out if you have questions about anything here!
Lessons will be scheduled on a regular weekly basis. Bi‑weekly lessons may be approved at the instructor’s discretion.
Lessons will occur either in the client’s home, or in an alternate, agreed upon location. If lessons occur in an alternate location, the client is responsible for confirming in advance that music lessons are permitted in that space.
If a parent or student needs to change their lesson day or time, they should contact the instructor as soon as possible. They understand that their preferred time may not be available, and schedule changes are not guaranteed.
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson time for a makeup lesson credit to be issued.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged the full lesson rate with no makeup credit issued. Exceptions may be made in cases of sudden illness or emergency at the instructor’s discretion.
If the instructor must cancel a lesson for any reason, a makeup credit will be issued.
Makeup credit lessons will be scheduled based on the availability of both the student and instructor. If a makeup cannot be arranged within two months, a refund will be issued.
Families should provide at least one week’s notice before withdrawing from lessons.
Withdrawal notices should be submitted via email, text, or the online student portal for clear documentation.
Lesson fees are billed in advance, based on the number of lessons scheduled for the upcoming month.
The instructor will deliver the invoice via email for the upcoming month no later than the 20th of the previous month. (For example: A September invoice will be sent by August 20th.)
Payment is due on the 1st of the month, with a 5‑day grace period provided.
Continuous payments submitted after the grace period may be subject to a late fee at the instructor’s discretion.
Both the student and instructor are expected to arrive on time at the agreed upon location. In the event that either the student or instructor is running late, they will make every attempt to contact the other party to inform them of the situation.
The lesson environment should be safe and free of major distractions. Pets should be secured if they interfere with the lesson.
If the instructor is late, time credits will be issued to ensure the missed time is made up. The instructor will make every effort to arrive consistently on time.
Open communication is encouraged—questions, concerns, or scheduling needs can be addressed via email, text, or the online portal.
The student agrees to keep track of all provided materials.
Each student learns at their own pace, and instruction will be tailored to their individual needs, goals, and learning style.
The student acknowledges that their speed of progress depends on consistent practice and engagement outside of lessons.
If at any time the student or parent is unhappy with the lesson services, they should contact the instructor and make their concerns known. The instructor will make every attempt to rectify the issue within reasonable means.
